Bramham celebrates as we receive the prestigious "Queens Award for Voluntary Service"
Queens Award for Voluntary Service .... very proud to announce that the little village of Bramham received the honours!! #QUAVS2019
The response to our initial enquiries about applying for this prestigious award ... “It is very difficult to achieve this status. Often takes 4 or 5 attempts to get the honours so do not be disappointed if you are not successful and please don’t give up”.
So imagine the excitement when we got the news with our first application! And then told to keep it quiet until today (the 2nd June) when it was announced in the London Gazette. So now we can shout about it.
Only 4 voluntary groups in West Yorkshire have achieved this honour in 2019 ... the highest award given to exceptional voluntary groups (Team MBE!).
Congratulations to Chris Mick Chris Ian Keith and Vicky for your personal achievement for your exceptional hardwork and dedication that enabled Bramham Village Hall and Community Action Group to receive this award.
And of course huge thank you to ALL the volunteers from our fabulous village who contributed to our village achieving this status.
We all knew it was a great place to live .... and The Queen thinks so too!
Such fantastic news to share that these “Super Six” volunteers, Christine and Mick Wray, Christine and Ian Dalton and Keith and Vicky Innocent attended the Royal Garden Party as a thank you.
On the 1st of September 2019 a presentation from our Lord Lieutenant took place in the village hall together with a village celebration for all volunteers who have contributed to this wonderful achievement ..
