Bramham Pottery - Introduction
The story of Bramham Pottery - started in circa 1936 by Rita Clayton and Constance Walker - both students from Leeds Art School. The Yorkshire Evening Post article tells of their search for suitable premises to start their pottery business in - settling eventually in an old forge behind the old Primary School (now replaced by houses) in Bramham. Even if this was down the road from their homes in Thorner the attraction no doubt would be the low rental for a run-down building. What eventually happened to the business is not known - maybe the Second World War intervened.

There was a pottery shed behind Bramham Old School and this was demolished and a bungalow built for Miss Robinson who had the Bar House.
