Description of 41-B Thornton Family Photographs

1. Bramham Village Square circa 1941

2. The best Bramham Village Square pump photograph around. It depicts Miriam Ivy Fisher holding the pump handle. The girl holding the umbrella could be called Woodruff ?. The two other girls are Miriam Fisher's cousins, Marjorie Handley and Maisie Fisher.

3. Burial announcement in the Church Magazine 1927, for Frederick Charles Henry Fisher who was father to George and Miriam Fisher and husband to Harriet Yates.

4. Bramham School photo circa 1928. William Arthur Henry Thornton is on the back row wearing glasses. Note the view of the Parish Church in the background.

5. 1920's photograph of Bramham Village Square showing the war memorial. Harriet Fisher's shop is on the left (double fronted) - husband Fred's van is parked in front of the shop.

6. & 7. Pages from the Church Magazine announcing the marriage of William Arthur Henry Thornton to Miriam Ivy Fisher.

8. Grandfather Frederick C. H. Fisher by his van in front of the shop in Bramham circa 1925. It was a butchers shop in those days, now part of the Red Lion pub.

9. & 10. Great Grandfather Edward Yates standing in the doorway of the shop in Bramham circa 1928, shop now part of the Red Lion pub.

11. Programme of Music and Oratory at Bramham about mid 1930's. Villagers names include George Fisher and his good friend Arthur Tindall.

12. Photograph of a church noted as Bramham Parish Church but believed to be that of Ledsham, a village several miles south of Bramham.
