Description of 40-A Mothers Union History
1. An invitation to "A Celebration of 75 Years of Mothers Union Work in Bramham dated 2nd September in 1986.
2. & 3. Extracts from parish record showing dates and a few details of Mothers Union church services between 1912 and 1943.
4. A photo of Lady Bingley, who is believed to have started the Mothers Union in Bramham in 1912, with her two daughters.
5. An undated untitled wedding group
6. Canon Hicks accompanying bishop with military personnel (greeting the Queen??)
7. Canon Hicks bidding farewell to departing senior military members of congregation.
Canon Hicks was the Chancellor of St. Paul's Cathedral in Malta from 1944 to 1954.
Although he visited Malta in 1935 as mentioned in a Parish Magazine of the time here
Photo's 6 & 7 are probably taken at the entrance of St. Paul's :-
"Paying her first visit to Malta since being crowned Queen Elizabeth II in June 1953, Her Majesty came to unveil the Commonwealth Air Forces Memorial which had been erected in Floriana. On Sunday morning, 2nd May, the eve of this ceremony, she attended St. Paul’s for a Memorial Service to all the Officers and Men of the Commonwealth Air Forces who had died during World War II. "
