Description of 33-K Bramham Moor Hunt
1. - 3. A 3-page summary prepared by David Machin of "The History of Bramham Moor Hunt" written by William Scarth Dixon and published in 1898. It tells that the BMH was formed in the early 1700s and initially covered an area "from Skipton in Craven to Selby and right up to the walls of York". After a period in the early 19th century when the BMH was centred on Harewood it returned to Bramham in 1848 when the ascendancy of "Squire" George Lane Fox ushered in a golden 50 years for the hunt.
4. - 9. Six individual pages extracted from "The History of Bramham Moor Hunt" that illustrate various specific aspects of life in those days - how the hunt was conducted, hunting accidents and incidents, what travelling by coach was like, and the character of Squire George and the respect held for him.
10. - 13. Four untitled portraits (possibly of Squire George at various ages?)
14. A photograph of the Boxing Day Meet in Bramham village square in 1971.
15. Two photographs taken at Hope Hall, the home of the Hunt pack - one taken about 2000 with an earlier black and white.
