Description of 24-A Foreword

1. A letter dated 3/8/99 from Paul S Leaman of Cragg Cottage Bramham to  David Machin.  In this letter the writer offers to add information to the history of the village by the using a thesis based mainly on the contents of the 1851 census of Bramham.

3. Introduction to the thesis. The benefits of the computer in gaining information from the Census.

4. Drawbacks experienced in creating a perfect data base.

5. Together with the 1851 Census the writer has used  Wrigley’s '19th Century Society' , The Registrar General’s Social Clarifications and information from a work by Charles Boot on Industrial Classification.
