Section 22-F Harry Tindall Collection

Description of 22-F The Bramham Park Fire 1828

1. A description given in the York Courant on 29 July 1828 showing a plan of the house and giving details of the early actions of the footman who first discovered the conflagration.

2. This continues the story of the rescue of personnel, the rapid progress of the fire, the action of the fire engines and the preservation of some of the valuables.

3. More information on what was saved, an estimate of the total cost of the damage and preliminary thoughts on the possible cause of the outbreak

4. Continuing the story of associated disasters involving horses plus some additional manuscript notes by David Machin on matters related to the fire.
