Description of 22-A 5 Original Pieces
1. -12. A Brief Awakening After a brief introduction to the village of Bramham as it emerged over the last two millennia, this develops into the story of a lady visiting Bramham in 1832. Born and bred in Bramham she had left earlier in the century to live on a farm in Northamptonshire where she met and married a French prisoner of war. It illustrates what life was like for ordinary folk in the first half of the nineteenth century.
13. & 14. A New Interest A couple of tales about the mischief that Harry and his pals got up to as lads. Firstly teaching a litter of Airedale puppies to swim and then the joys of, and subsequent retribution for, accurate target practice with stones on the church clock.
15 - Devilment in the Offing Another escapade for Harry and his pals - again leading to retribution. This time it was about ducks.
16 - Mechanization "Hill climbing trials" for early motor vehicles in the village of Bramham from the viewpoint of a village lad.
17. & 18. Harry and the choirboys get away with pranks against the bellringer in the church tower. Then follows a description of maintenance work on the tower and clock face.
